RITA GLASSMAN is an ordained Cantor, Board Certified Chaplain, and composer with a particular interest in music that lifts the heart and brings people together in community. She is a member of the Helfman Composers Group based in Los Angeles and her music has been published in several music anthologies by the Union for Reform Judaism. In her Cantorial role, Rita has served congregations in New York, Marin County, and most recently the historical Congregation Sherith Israel in San Francisco. She has recorded and produced six cds with original music including “A World of Peace in Song and Prayer”, “Walk With Me”, “Journey to Shabbat”, “All The Way Home”, “River of Peace” and her newest cd is “Begin Again-Songs of Hope and Renewal”.
Rita’s original “Song For Peace” was performed at the White House for President and Michelle Obama at an interfaith holiday celebration in 2015. She has sung the National Anthem at a San Francisco Giants’ game at AT&T Park (see Video page) and at two Golden State Warriors’ games at the Oakland Arena on Jewish Heritage Night. Rita’s beautiful, soulful voice and inspirational music take the listener on a moving, transformational journey toward healing, hope, renewal, joy and peace.
